Practically a genre unto itself, stoner movies have established a track record of being particularly entertaining to the herbally enhanced. Here at Yizzam we know the loyalty potheads have to these movies is almost as strong as their devotion to their favorite item of clothing, but did you know that the very same tees and tanks you love have made an appearance in some of the most classic stoner films of all time? Yep, we were there all the way back in the 70s when Cheech and Chong sang “Earache My Eye” and we came along for the ride with Harold and Kumar on their way to White Castle. So on this day, 4/20, as we delight in the euphoric glow of fashion, take a look at a few times we were there and you didn’t even notice.
Half Baked
Who could forget the famous Chappelle quote from this film, “I want to talk to Samson and wear Yizzam tees every day.” In this movie that is equally as funny the first time and the four hundred and twentieth time, Thurgood (Chappelle) and his friends sell marijuana stolen from the lab where Thurgood works as a janitor so they can bail their pal Kenny out of jail. There are so many impressive cameos (Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, Tommy Chong and Jon Stewart) that it’s no wonder you missed Jim Breuer wearing a Yizzam tee.

Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
This slapstick romp about two men on a quest for the perfect burger, deals with some serious questions that every stoner faces at some point. They are, “Dude, didn’t we come here on a cheetah?” and “What Yizzam tee should I get next?” Spoiler alert: They eventually get there, and as you can see, they waste no time ordering new threads from Yizzam.com as well.
Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke
The first of their many big screen adventures, these crazy stoners unknowingly smuggle a van – made entirely of marijuana – from Mexico to L.A., with hopeless Sgt. Stedenko on their trail. A cult spoof classic, this film began a brand new kind of wacky film comedy; not to mention a love of marijuana leaf tank tops from Yizzam Yellow Haze Legalize It. The duo get into all kinds of foolish exploits, but at least their fashion is on point.

The Big Lebowski
Ah, the Coen Brothers classic. Some may say this movie is really about bowling, while others (potheads) know this movie is all about Jeff Bridges’ character “Dude.” He is the stuff of stoner legends, the Dude worthy of our aspiration, and a fashion icon wearing a Yizzam t-shirt Purple Haze Legalize It. So, back to our point, all weed smokers love this movie, but there are probably no bowlers who have even seen it. Hmmmm…

Pineapple Express
Put Seth Rogan and James Franco together and you’re sure to get a hit. Rogen’s high-all-the-time character witnesses a drug-related execution, leaves a roach of Pineapple Express behind at the scene of the crime and ends up leading the drug lord straight to Rogan’s pot dealer. What could go wrong? With lots of on-screen toking, hilarious adventure, and Yizzam tanks, we think it all goes all right!
